Consultation
Your first visit will begin with a consultation, which will include a full case history and physical examination consisting of orthopaedic and neurological tests that may help in identifying the underlying cause of your complaint.
If X-rays are necessary, to assist the diagnosis, digital private X-ray facilities, which provide instant results, can be used as an alternative to the long waiting times that may occur through the NHS.
If your chiropractor identifies an underlying condition for which other treatment is appropriate, you will be referred to your GP or another specialist without delay.
Your Treatment Plan
Having discussed the risk and benefits of chiropractic care, a range of treatment types may be selected, tailored to your specific needs.
Treatment Types:-
Manipulation/Mobilisation
- A range of techniques used to improve movement in restricted joints and soft tissues of the body.
Soft Tissue Work
- A range of techniques aimed at the soft tissues of the body which include Active Release Techniques, massage, trigger point therapy, x-friction as well as stretching and muscle energy techniques.
Auxiliary Therapy
- A range of therapies, which can be used in isolation or to compliment the above soft tissue work and manipulation/mobilization. Examples include taping, dry needling, ultrasound, laser, interferential, TENs, cryotherapy/heat therapy.
Rehabilitation
Why accept a “cook book” approach to rehabilitation exercises? A more in-depth analysis and rehabilitation plan, specifically designed for each patient, can be performed by a chiropractor.
